November is a great time of year here in St. George. The holidays are almost here and we still enjoy plenty of warm, sunny days with brilliant fall colors. Take advantage of all this vibrant, beautiful area has to offer and partake in St. George November events.
While much of the outdoor theater and concert season has wound down, there are still plenty of great shows to take in indoors. Tuacahn is still offering several shows and concerts while area school theater productions are in full swing with:
Pine View High School’s The King and I, Wednesday 11/6 – Saturday 11/9.
Dixie High School’s Peter Pain, Thursday 11/7, Friday 11/8, Saturday 11/9, Monday 11/9.
Dixie State University’s production of the musical Camelot, 11/7-11/16.
While October was packed with competitive sporting events such as the St. George Marathon and the Huntsman Senior World Games, the action continues with the Snow Canyon Half Marathon on Saturday 11/2. This half marathon was rated as one of North America’s best by Runners World Magazine!
Of course, one does not need to run 13.1 to enjoy the beauty of Snow Canyon State Park. The park offers miles of trails and spectacular scenery just waiting to be explored. November 1st also marks the day that Zion National Park reopens to vehicle traffic on the canyon scenic drive. With splendid fall colors lining the canyon, easier access, and smaller crowds, November is a spectacular time to visit the park.
If you love football, high school football playoffs begin and Dixie State College and Southern Utah University each have home games to enjoy.
On November 1st and 2nd, The What Seniors Want Expo comes to the Dixie Center. The expo hosts a wide range of vendors including travel, financial services, medical devices, home services, food, and much more.
Get ready for the magic of the holidays with the Jubilee of Trees at the Dixie Center in St. George. Wander through dozens of beautifully decorated, unique Christmas Trees, take pictures with Santa, enjoy holiday treats, performances, and get a head start on your shopping. The event opens to the public on Thursday 11/21 and runs through Monday 11/25.
Santa’s workshop, St. George’s premier Christmas Gift show, kicks off on Black Friday 11/29 and ends Saturday 11/30 in the Dixie Center. Friday, November 29th also marks the start to Tuacahn’s Christmas Festival of Lights.
In addition to beautiful lights and a nightly live nativity performance, visitors to Tuacahn’s Christmas Festival of Lights can also listen to holiday music or enjoy a holiday train ride, and shop in the gift gallery. And don’t forget the Tuacahn Saturday market is still going each Saturday from 9 am to 1pm.
This list of events is by no means exhaustive. For all the details and information on more events, please see the St. George Chamber of Commerce’s events calendar.
With all the great November events in St. George, it’s easy to see why Southern Utah is a great place to live and visit. So get out, partake, and enjoy. Just don’t forget to vote on Tuesday November 5th!
