The St. George area has a wide number of events to celebrate the season. Many of the events are indoors, but with the pleasant fall weather, there’s plenty to do outside as well. Here’s ten of our favorite St. George area holiday events.
1. Candy Cane Lane Boutique.
Get a head start on celebrating the magic of the season with the Candy Cane Lane Boutique on Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th at the Washington Community Center. This event has live entertainment, Santa visits, Christmas music, vendors, prizes, and more !
2. Jubilee of Trees.
The Jubilee of Trees is an annual tradition in St. George. Beautifully, custom-made designer Christmas trees, wreaths, tabletop trees, and gingerbread houses, and custom holiday displays bring in the magic of the season. Proceeds go to support the Foundation of the Dixie Regional Medical Center.
Pictures with Santa, caramel apples, sweets and baked goods, and evening music concerts are all part of the fun and make this an event you won’t want to miss. The event is at the Dixie Convention Center and runs from Thursday November 21st through Monday November 25th. There is a gala event the evening of Wednesday November 20th.
3. Jingle Bell Walk/Run.
This is a fun event for the whole family. Bring your antlers and running shoes and plenty of festive holiday cheer. This event is on Saturday November 23rd in St. George at Worthen Park.
4. Hurricane Valley Christmas Tree Festival.
This is a free event that takes place on Friday November 29th and Saturday November 30th at the Hurricane Community Center. All the proceeds from bake sale, auction, and raffles will be donated to “Coins for Kids”, which supports needy families in Hurricane. 5. Tuacahn’s Christmas in the Canyon.
Beautiful holiday lights line the entrance to Tuacahn Canyon and one of the most stunning amphitheaters in all the Southwest. Take the kids on a holiday train ride, shop in the gift gallery, enjoy holiday music, and be sure to catch the evening live nativity performance. The event runs from November 29th through December 21, 2013. Admission is free.
6. Springdale Christmas Tree Lighting.
Saturday, November 30th is a fantastic day to be in one of the most beautiful cities in the Southwest, Springdale, the gateway to Zion National Park. Take a hike in Zion, catch the Zion Canyon Arts and Crafts Festival, support Springdale businesses by shopping on this Small Business Saturday, and stay for the community’s Christmas Tree Lighting at 7pm. 7. Christmas in Town Square Park.
This community event runs from Monday December 2nd through Thursday, December 5th in St. George’s Town Square Park. Ride the carousel, enjoy games, crafts, hot chocolate, pictures with Santa, and nightly entertainment are all part of the fun. The city’s official tree lighting ceremony will take place on Monday, December 2nd at 7pm.
8. Dickens’ Christmas Festival.
Take a step back in time and stroll through narrow village streets of 19th century London for this unique and unusual holiday shopping and entertainment experience. Guest can shop for fun gifts, enjoy holiday treats and entertaintment, and rub shoulders with Dickens’ characters including Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and Queen Victoria. The event runs from Wednesday, December 4th through Saturday, December 7th at the Dixie Convention Center.
9. The Nutcracker by the St. George Ballet.
This magical holiday ballet featuring local artists takes place from December 12th through the 14th at Desert Hills High School.
10. Christmas Treasures.
Catch the spirit of the season through song and dance in this wonderful live performance featuring holiday favorites from Bing Crosby, The Carpenters, and many more. The event takes place every Friday and Saturday beginning Friday, November 21st and ending Saturday, December 21st at the Bumbleberry Theatre in Springdale.
